Saturday November 3rd 2018 - The Painted Bride in Philadelphia hosted the annual fundraiser for Rush Arts Philly (RAP). Curator and expressionist artist Danny Simmons fundraiser assisted in recognizing the impact of artist and influencers within the Delaware valley while bringing awareness to his underfunded art gallery located in the Logan section of Philadelphia. The Rush Art Philly fundraiser was hosted by Philadelphia radio personality Diana Williams and featured local artist including Danny Simmons personal performance while highlighting up and coming national artist like Justin Wadlington. The consistent theme of “ArtForLife” was promoted throughout the event by Danny Simmons nephew and niece Joseph and Angela Simmons as they helped tribute honorees that have made a difference within the art community. The honorees were Jane Golden of Mural Arts, Judy Brodsky, artist, printmaker and art advocate and artist James Brantley.
